Happy New Year!

Happy new year to everyone. Its time to say goodbye to 2011 and welcome 2012. I wish I had the chance to blog more often this past year. First and foremost I have to apologize to all my clients who have been trying to contact me to book for 2012. Booking for 2012 is closed and we will no longer be taking any clients for 2012.

So whats in store for 2012? Well lots of things. There comes a time in everyone’s life when we must step out of our comfort zone and pursue our dreams. Many of my clients know my love for animation and photography. Its always been hard juggling and wrestling with them both. I truly love animation and photography. To see a small sample of my animation work head over to www.athavan.ca. So in pursuit of my dreams I will be moving out of town to concentrate more on the animation side of things. I have thought about the following decision for a long time and I believe this is the right time to make the change.

That brings us to Mayavee Photography. I will always be doing photography so no need to worry. Mayavee photography will be getting re-branded soon into a new company. A fresh new name and design is in the works. Keep an eye out for more info in the following weeks. Since I will be moving out of town, the new brand will become more international. I will still be shooting in Toronto and in other cities. I can’t disclose too much at this moment. Exciting times.

With all this work and business I cannot neglect family. To me family comes first, so 2012 will be a year I get to spend more time with my wife and daughter. My daughter was born on July, 2011 and I cannot miss her growing up by working too much. She is my bundle of joy. A balance is needed in everything.

I wish everyone a well balanced, healthy 2012. Lots of exciting things are happening and I can’t wait to share them all with you.

Siva + Nila: Married

A couple of weeks ago Siva from Divine Method Photography contacted me about photographing his wedding and I was honored. It’s always an honor to photograph a fellow photographer. Siva and Nila had a very emotional civil ceremony at city hall in Toronto. Siva has gone through some hard times in the past with his health, which makes this wedding so heartwarming and rewarding. I absolutely loved sharing their wedding day with them and having the opportunity to photograph. My best wishes to Siva and Nila and have a happy married life. Enjoy the pictures.

Siva + Nila: Teaser

I had the pleasure of shooting a fellow photographer’s civil ceremony this week. The lovely couple was Siva from Divine Method and Nila. The following is just a small teaser. Enjoy.

Hugs & Kisses: Moved

The adventures of hugs & kisses was started a while back and has been posted on this blog from time to time. Now it is time for them to move to a new home where those pictures can be displayed. This gives me the opportunity to keep the Mayavee blog strictly wedding and lifestyle related. I recently started a new personal photography blog to explore life through the lens. The new blogs name is Grey Mango. Grey mango allows me to share my thoughts and personal work with the world. So head over to Grey Mango and explore the other aspects of photography I love.

Mathura + Geran: Married

All this snow and cold weather is making me wish for summer again. The following wedding was the last wedding I shot for the summer. Mathura and Geran’s wedding consisted of a christian ceremony and a Hindu ceremony. The wedding had lots of unique and personal touches to the both of them, making it very memorable for me. Enjoy the small sample from a big wedding.

Mathura + Geran: Lifestyle

Happy new year to everyone. I’ve been so busy with family and work that the blog didn’t get any updates. The following is Mathura & Geran’s lifestyle session which we did in the summer. They were a very fun and friendly couple to work with. Both of them were up for anything and this worked out great. I had a blast taking the following pictures in some unique locations. Enjoy.

Heather + Richard: Married

The following was a wedding that was special and different from my usual weddings. The wedding was of my good friends Heather and Richard. It was unique being the photographer and a guest at the wedding. The venue was The living arts centre which made the wedding very intimate and personal to the couple. Enjoy some of the pictures from Heather and Richard’s special day.
